Flight Lieutenant Raymond Frederic Baxter

The famous BBC presenter and commentator Raymond Frederic Baxter, was a distinguished Spitfire Pilot during World War II.He flew in the famous Operation Big Ben,in which a small group of Spitfires made a daring daylight raid to attack the Shell-Mex building in The Hague, which was the headquarters of the V1 and V2 attacks.By the time he was demobbed in 1946,Raymond Baxter had reached the rank of Flight Lieutenant.
Flight Lieutenant Baxter famously made a BBC show, where he sat in a Spitfire, dressed exactly how he dressed when he flew them.He is wearing His Personal Irvin Flying Jacket, sitting in a Spitfire Cockpit, and telling people that he DID wear the Irvin Flying Jacket whilst flying in Spitfires during World War II.
Here are two pictures of Raymond Baxter and 602 Squadron RAF during the war,and one of him seated in the Cockpit of a Spitfire, during his show, wearing His Personal Irvin Flying Jacket.
